I'm Ready For My Close Up, Mr. DeMille

So now.. something I should have done all along!!  The close-ups!

This is from May 19 or 20.  BOTH of them look exactly the same
Not much going on, but it's clearly still alive!
This one is called Marty.  AKA Righty

Now for the interesting side

This is Spin AKA Left.  Photo taken on May 16

I'll use this method going forward!

So this is about as entertaining as watching grass grow (a previous blog of mine) but it IS getting exciting!!

Come back soon to see the next post on the Adventures of Spin and Marty

And HOW did they get their names.  Like many things -  the names popped into my head and I went with it.  Righty and Marty - easy to remember.  Spin and Left - OK GOT IT.

Another Week

YES!  I do take pictures every day
NO!  They don't look very different yet lol

So, time keeps rolling along.  They get photographed and watered daily.  I see some change, but not a lot.  I'm going to TRY and post a bunch of those pix... YOU DECIDE!

A Week Or So Later...

 A Week Or So Later

So I take a picture EVERY DAY and I noticed that every picture looked EXACTLY the same.  I didn't want to waste real estate on this blog... so I waited.

They still look pretty much THE SAME... but MAYBE,  JUST MAYBE there is the beginning of growth on the plant on the left????

I keep making excuses... well... it's been cold at night.
maybe they need more water.
it's early still.
I don't want to even consider that they might not grow.

But... let's continue the positive outlook!

May 16.  Maybe????   Here's a close up.

Second Post, Same as the First

Second Post, Same as the First

So not much is changing.  This is my second post, but the THIRD day of the Banana-Rama-Ding-Dong Fabulouso Adventure!

I guess I will have to expand on the "same old, same old" photos until the trees begin their glorious growth.

So here's the 3rd-day pic:

Three days of "sticks in the ground" -  No measurable change.

Here's something entirely different!

A New Direction!

So today, I'll start turning Hello Mugwump in a new direction.  The background is perfect, so this is the blog chosen to be...

BANANA-RAMA-DING-DONG!

Here's the background to the story.  Every day I take a walk.  One day, I saw a man in the neighborhood planting some ugly sticks.  A month later, the ugly sticks were BANANA TREES!  Now, this is NOT the tropics -  so I stopped and spoke to him to find out if they were actually banana trees and how it was possible to grow them in New Jersey.  John, the banana man, said Yes! they were banana trees and offered to give me one at the end of the season.

Months and months later, we had TWO ugly sticks in our garage.  They spent the winter there and yesterday, Ken planted them!  Now we just have to HOPE they grow!!  This blog will follow their flourishing future or their ugly stick deaths.

Thanks, in part to Cole, I'll be publishing their success or failure on this blog

So-  here goes.  The first-day pix!

Fresh from the garage in their winter buckets

Ahhhh. Bananas!

Here is the Day Two pic.

Hmmm.  Strangely, the same.  Well. Stay Tuned!

And the tip of a hat to the mugwump

That's all for today.  I hope tomorrow's picture is DIFFERENT lol.
